H. Alton Cox (King Edward III)
H. Alton Cox is a musician and musical stage actor. Along with obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Francis Marion University, Alton had extended studies in NYC at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting, private vocal technique training with Beth Roberts (dialectician coach at the Met), and private vocal coaching with David Brunetti. He is a member of Actors Equity Association and the Professional Actors Union. He collects musical scores of Broadway shows, and is a serious Rodgers & Hammerstein aficionado.
John Jackman (Stanley Baldwin & Director)
John Jackman is an award-winning filmmaker, author, philosopher and pastor. He has produced and directed numerous documentaries and two feature films, Wesley and Newton’s Grace. Widely recognized as an expert on digital video production, he was one of the lead writers at Digital Video Magazine. He is author of Lighting for Digital Video & Television and Blue Screen Compositing. He has taught digital filmmaking for the American Film Institute and been consultant to the Library of Congress. As pastor of a very active Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, he is best known as organizer of the Debt Jubilee Project, which has wiped out over $25 million in past-due medical debts in the region.
George Lee (Sir John Simpson)
George Lee was as one of North Carolina’s leading radio personalities. From 1960 until 1982, he was a fixture on the local airways, first with WAIR, then WTOB, and then with WSJS as the host of the top-rated “George Lee Showboat.”
Later he served as the station director for WSJS and WTQR. His distinctive voice earned him numerous advertising and broadcast awards.
Lee followed his radio career with a second career as an actor and voice-over talent for films, television shows, commercials and advertising. His credits include scenes with Charleton Heston, Robin Williams and Andy Griffith.
Lee was a fixture in local theatre for over 30 years and lent his gifts to assist the developing talents at the UNC School of the Arts. When he wasn’t working, he was an active volunteer in the community.
Most of all, Lee is remembered for his trademark sign-off at the end of each radio show: “Remember to drive a little slow, and be a little late. The life you save could be mine. Myself, I’d rather be a little late than the late George Lee.”
George passed away in 2006 after a struggle with pancreatic cancer.
David Martin (Cinematographer)
David Martin is an artist, filmmaker, and educator. Originally from North Carolina, he holds a BFA in Cinematography from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. After moving to Los Angeles and working freelance in the film industry, Dave pursued an MFA in Broadcast Cinema from Art Center College of Design in 2011. He has exhibited drawings, paintings, and film installations in Los Angeles, Oakland, and San Francisco. He is also co-founding director of Art-In-Residence, an arts-based non-profit exploring the potential of public art in the Antelope Valley, CA.
